ORACLE Database Administration


This 5-day workshop presents an overview of database administration using ORACLE’s DBMS. The workshop objective is to help the DBA realize an efficient implementation of the application using the internal database and memory structures provided by the ORACLE DBMS. The workshop presents the ORACLE facilities and utilities for user management, database security, and database backup and recovery. This workshop is a combination of lecture material and "hands-on" computer exercises, with plenty of time for student questions and answers.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Describe the physical organization of ORACLE databases.
  • Develop stored procedures, packages, and triggers.
  • Implement distributed database features.
  • Run utilities to perform basic ORACLE user management, database security, and backup/recovery functions.
  • Perform basic DBA functions and application/system tuning.
