CICS Web Enablement
After this workshop the students will understand the CICS Web Support and how to
modify it. They will be able to code the programming changes required to run
3270-based transactions from the Internet/Intranet and to code new Web-aware
programs using the CICS Transaction Server Web and Document APIs.
This 3-day workshop is taught by lecture, and preferably, with hands-on
coding.
Who Should Attend
This workshop is designed for students wanting to know more about the CICS
Web Interface and the facilities it offers.
Prerequisites
The participant should have a sound understanding of the CICS environment.
Some Internet experience would be advantageous, but it is not essential.
Workshop Objectives:
- Describe the CICS WEB SUPPORT (CWS) and its components.
- Develop Web Aware applications using the Command Level CWS API Commands.
- Adapt current 3270-based applications to run under the 3270 Bridge.
- Define the Resource Definition Online Definitions required by the CWS.
- Modify the IBM supplied CWS programs to meet programming standards.
- Code the other WEB components including JavaScript, HTML and HTTP.
- Describe the additional support provided for Java and Business Transaction
Services (BTS).
- Participate in setting Organizational Internet and Intranet standards.
