XML for the .NET Developer
Extensible Markup Language (XML) has revolutionized the Enterprise Application
and Business-to-Business industries by standardizing data storage and exchange
formats. Using XML, applications from different vendors, written in different
languages, and running on different platforms can exchange data with one another
without struggling with incompatible file formats. Furthermore, other protocols,
such as Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Electronic Business XML (ebXML),
are built on top of XML. Microsoft has taken advantage of the simplicity and
power of XML by tightly integrating it into the .NET environment.
This 3-day hands-on class teaches developers the structure of XML documents
and how to work with them efficiently using .NET Framework classes. Through
instructor presentation and hands-on exercises, students will learn how to read,
write, navigate, modify, create, transform, and serialize XML documents and
their data. They will also discuss error-handling, performance-tuning, and the
various uses of XML and its importance within the .NET environment.
NOTE: This class can be taught with either Visual Basic .NET or C#.
Who Should Attend
This workshop is aimed at .NET programmers who want to learn or become more
proficient with XML.
